Abraham Morpurgo was a son of Jacob Morpurgo and Vogeltje van Engel. He married in Amsterdam on 18 October 1923 to Rachel Kijl, daughter of Hartog Kijl and Mietje Schaap.

In the archive of the "Zentralstelle für jüdische Auswanderung" is a list, drafted on order of SS-Hauptsturmfüher K. Wörlein, with the names of 33 Jews, who have handed in a certain amount of money and/or goods, for which they were promised to get a special treatment. This list was stored in the archive of the "Zentralstelle" on 16 February 1943.
On this list, the names appear of Abraham Morpurgo, his wife Rachel Morpurgo-Kijl, his daughter Vogelina Morpurgo, his daughter Carla Celina Morpurgo, his son Jacob Hartog Morpurgo, his mother Vogeltje Morpurgo van Engel and of a child who has survived the Holocaust.

Abraham Morpurgo has been deported on 4 April 1944, together with his wife Rachel, his children Vogelina, Carla Celina and Jacob Hartog, aswell his mother Vogeltje van Engel, with Convoy 24 from Mechelen to Auschwitz, where it has arrived on the 7th of April.
