Walter Jacob Eliasar lived in Amsterdam. He was unmarried and worked as a tailor. During the occupation he performed various activities in the resistance, such as helping people in hiding and forging identification cards. He was also involved in raids for their cause, such as the one on the Amsterdam population register.
Walter Jacob Eliasar was arrested in Amsterdam on 29 March 1944 and was imprisoned at the Amsterdam main police precinct. He was sent via the penitentiary in Scheveningen, Westerbork, Auschwitz and Celle to the Gleiwitz Kommando, where he was killed.
