Louis van Loon was a son of Salomon van Loon and Marianna Bonewit, who both passed away already before the war.
He married 3 October 1934 in Amsterdam to Rosalina Gosler, a daughter of Abraham Gosler and Saartje Gans.
Louis was born in a family with 10 children. One little sister died in 1896, only 2 years old. One brother and one sister have survived the war but the other siblings, namely Clara, Isaac, Hijman, Philip, Vogelina and Nathan have been killed during the Holocaust.

Louis van Loon was a travelling salesman. He travelled much in Eastern Europe.
