Ephraim Izak Levie Rosenbaum was the son of Izaäk Rosenbaum and Bertha Levie. He was a pharmacist. His pharmacy was on the corner of the Nieuwe Herengracht and the Amstel. His wife Johanna Frederika Suzanna Zion and his son Izak Michel Max were in hiding in Neede. They were betrayed. Their second child had gone into hiding elsewhere and survived the war. Ephraim Izak Levie Rosenbaum was approached by the resistance to go into hiding. The Jewish Council however, urged him to stay in Amsterdam.
