Saartje Wurms was a daughter of Hijman Wurms and Aaltje Mok. She married Albert Marten Piel on 18 April 1934 in Amsterdam, who previously was married and divorced from Wilhelmina Hendrika Margaretha Swaab, a daughter of Levie Salomon Swaab and Sara Swaab.
Since 1938 Saartje Wurms and Albert Piel did not live together anymore. They divorced on 21 January 1942. They had four children. A son Hijman passed away in 1936 at the age of a few weeks. Albert Piel died in 1945 in Germany.
