Aaltje de Leeuw was the widow of Maurits Hijmans. The couple had a son, Maurits Siegfried, and a daughter. Aaltje Hijmans-de Leeuw lived at 14 Bloemhofstraat in Alphen aan den Rijn. She was the sister of Klazina de Leeuw. Her son, Maurits Siegfried Hijmans, moved in with his sister in Amsterdam in August 1941. In August 1942 he returned to Alphen aan den Rijn, where he moved back in with his mother. They were fetched there during the major raid on 30 September 1942 and deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork.
