In June 1941, four obituaries were placed in Het Joodsche Weekblad for Marcus Hochhauser. One notice was signed by the 'Management of N.V. Confection factory formerly De Groot & Co' (Heerengracht 52, Amsterdam) with the text 'Unfortunately we mourn the loss of our loyal Boss, Mr Marcus Hochhauser, who dedicated his best efforts to our Company for many years. He will always be fondly remembered.'
