Johanna Frank was a daughter of Lazarus Frank and Judik Sanders. On 1 September 1897 she married Lazarus Israëls from Hoogezand, a son of Levie Israëls and Saartje Frank. However, her husband died at age 70 in Roermond on 12 September 1934, after arriving from Nijmegen on 25 July 1934, and where he was registered in the Peoples Registry of Roermond.
After the passing of her husband, Johanna Israëls Frank returned to Rotterdam where she lived at Eerste Middellandstraat 68a, but on 30 July 1936 she went back to Roermond where she resided at Nassaustraat 30. On 14 January she came back again to Rotterdam where she lived at Van Beuningenstraat 11, until she was deported to Auschwitz.
Beside two stillborn children, Johanna and Lazarus had a daughter Sara and two sons, namely Levie and Leonard Frank Israëls. The latter was a religious teacher in Roermond, married in 1935 to Judith Vomberg from Zutphen and both have survived the Holocaust. Their son Eliëzer Samuel, born in 1938 in Roermond, has died in Weert on 5 December 1943, 6 years old .
On her registration carrd of the Jewish Council, no particulars were recorded except that she has been deported to Auschwitz on 12 October 1942, and upon arrival there on 15 October 1942 immediately killed.
