About Hans Katan

Hans Katan was unmarried. He studied biology. He belonged to the editorial team of the illegal paper De Vrije Katheder and he was a staff member of the sabotage group CS-6.

On 19 August 1943, Hans Katan was arrested in Amsterdam. In September 1943, the trial took place in front of the Polizeistandgericht in Amsterdam against the arrested members of the CS-6 group. On 30 September, 19 members of the group were condemned to death. The next day, the sentence was executed in Overveen. Hans Katan was among them. Hij was buried in the Military cemetery of Bloemendaal.
