Sophia Cohen was a daughter of Isaak Cohen and Jeanetta de Winter. She married Heiman van Geldern from Winschoten, son of Levie van Geldern and Röschen David.
Sophia was a sister of Simon Cohen and Francisca Cohen.

The Velp police commissioner, community of Rheden, requested that Sophia van Geldern-Cohen be located, detained and brought to trial. She was suspected of having changed her place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
