Sophia Marx was the widow of Eduard Gerzon. He died in 1935 in Zandvoort. They had three children.

Sophia Gerzon-Marx was co-founder of the fashion house Gerzon. The first shop was opened in 1889 in the Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam.
