Bernard Benedictus Mathias van Perlstein got married on 16 March 1916 in Hamburg. His wife and two children survived the war. One of his children lived at another address.
Bernard van Perlstein was a dealer in yeast products and had his office at the Reguliersdwarsstraat 61 in Amsterdam. When the war was in full progress he walked around without wearing the compulsory Jewish Star. On the 22 January 1943 two SD-men in civil clothes were waiting for him. He was arrested and brought to the jail at the Amstelveenseweg. A fellow inmate notified the family by letter. In this letter his fellow inmate wrote about the betrayer of Bernard. The letter is still in possesion of the family.
