Samuel Stranders was a son of Benjamin Jozeph Stranders and Elizabeth van Straaten. He married in Den Haag on 20 December 1933 to Anna Meta Waisvisz. The couple had no children.

Samuel Stranders and his wife Annie Meta were managers of a sandwich bar in Amsterdam. Later, probably in 1940, they started a cafetaria in Zandvoort, which was destroyed by members of the NSB.
They had the possibility to take part in the funeral service of Annie Meta's father, Simon Waisvisz, at the beginning of April 1942.
