About Herta Oppenheimer

Herta Sara Oppenheimer was one of the three daughters of the Woerden butcher Eduard Oppenheimer (died in Woerden on 22 July 1931) and Regina Marx (died in Woerden on 3 December 1939). Herta Sara Oppenheimer was unmarried. She worked as a domestic servant in Amsterdam and elsewhere. On 8 February 1940 she moved from Amsterdam to Woerden, where she lived at 3 Emmakade. On 9 December her name was deleted from the Woerden town register. She went into hiding, first in Woerden and later in Utrecht. She was unable to stay inside and was caught. On 29 June 1943 she was deported from Westerbork to Sobibor, where she was killed on 2 July 1943.
