About Jacob Vleeschhouwer

Jacob Vleeschhouwer was an office clerk. He had an important role in the Dutch People's Militia, led by Samuel Zacharius Dormits, a Rotterdam sabotage grop attached to the Dutch Communist Party (CPN). He was arrested, charged with committing sabotage and condemned to death. On 14 July 1943, Jacob Vleeschhouwer was executed on the Leusderheide by camp Amersfoort.

Jacob Vleeschhouwer went into hiding for a short time in Rotterdam. According to tradition he left the house on the day he was arrested in a brown winter jacket and hat. He was supposed to return in the evening or late afternoon. He was arrested somewhere in Kralingen in the afternoon.
