Abraham Salomon Koster had three brothers and three sisters. Two brothers died before the war. 449946, 449950, 448129 and 517898 all perished in Auschwitz.

Abraham Salomon Koster was married to Rosalia de Wolf. With her he had four children among them Levie, also known as John, and Maurits Koster who didn't survive the war. Rosalia de Wolf died in 1919. Abraham Koster married Keetje Cohen de Solla. With her he had one child, Alexander Koster.
In August 1942 Abraham Salomon Koster underwent a medical examination to see if he was fit for work in a labour camp. As a result, he arrived in camp Hummelo on 18 August 1942. Within a month Abraham Salomon Koster was sent to Westerbork, where he arrived on 18 September 1942.
