Jacob de Vries was a son of Benjamin Abraham de Vries and Susanne Dondorp.
He was the twin brother of Eliasar de Vries. Jacob de Vries married Matje Schellevis and Eliasar married her sister Jeannette. The two brothers were very close and lived with their families (and six children) in the same house.
Jacob de Vries and Matje Schellevis had two children who survived the war.
