Hartog Blitz was in the Jewish Boy's Orphanage Home until he turned 18. He was the only member of his family of nine who took advanced studies. In the middle of his studies he stopped and took a job at a dry goods warehouse. His boss had his own mill and they took orders for cotton made sheets and underwear.
Hartog Blitz was very good to his mother and often helped her pay her bills. He and his wife, Lena van de Klei, had a beautiful apartment in Amsterdam.
