Isaac Sealtiel and Frederika Smalhout married on 19 October 1924. Isaac came to Amsterdam from Germany in 1923, where he had provided for himself as a vendor at street markets. Originally, Isaac was a cigar maker. After his dismissal as a cigar maker in 1924, he earned his money as a dealer in pottery, fruits, playing cards and flowers. Around 1935 he was trading miscellaneous at the street market at Waterlooplein. He had also a share in the stock of illumination in a store at Amstelstraat, toghether with eight of nine other dealers. In 1939, Isaac's son was leather worker at Emka, a factory of bicycles at the Pijlsteeg 6 in Amsterdam.
