Karel Beesemer lived as an unmarried man with the family Lopes Cardozo. He was transported to Westerbork and early August 1942 he asked permission to travel to Amsterdam in connection with his planned marriage to Hendrika Witzenhausen. He got permission and the couple married. Then the couple lived with the parents of the bride on Transvaalkade 115 hs. From that address, they were transported to Vught concentration camp. They were both killed on 31 January 1944 in Auschwitz.
Karel Beesemer had a child who survived the war.
