David Ezechiel Cohen was a son of Ezechiel Godert Cohen and Ester Abraham. He married in 1921 with the history teacher Sophia Louisa de Sterke.
David Ezechiel Cohen studied medicine in Amsterdam and sat for his medical finals on 15 February 1913. On 18 December 1913 he took his PhD degree in Amsterdam for his thesis on the topography of bone formed in atrophic eyes. He subsequently specialized in dermatology and venereal diseases. He lived and practised at 748 Keizersgracht in Amsterdam and had an office hour at 18 Pretoriusstraat in Amsterdam as well.
David Ezechiel Cohen wrote several articles about medical-history, including some about former physicians in Amsterdam, Jewish surgeons in Amsterdam, Jewish pharmacists in Amsterdam in the past and Jewish physicians in the Northern Netherlands before 1600. David Ezechiel Cohen was married to Sophia Louisa de Sterke. They had two children.
