David Cohen Paraira was a mathematician and worked as an actuary for a life insurance firm. He was also one of the greatest philatelists in the Netherlands, specializing in the Netherlands’ first issues.
David was the son of the mathematician Dr M.C. Cohen Paraira, who chaired the council of the Portuguese-Jewish community and was secretary of the Portuguese-Jewish seminary Ets Haim.
