Samuel Peper, a son of Hijman Saul Peper and Grietje Pruijm, was married in Amsterdam on 16 August 1916 to Schoontje Poppegaai, a daughter of Joseph Poppegaai and Aaltje Schellevis. He was a shopkeeper. They both attended the wedding of their son Jozeph Peper. The marriage was performed at Westerbork transit camp on 25 February 1943. They signed the marriage ceritificate.

Samuel was born in a family with eleven children. Three of his siblings has been killed too during the Shoah: Levie, Maria and Sara.
