Benedictus (Ben) Zurel was arrested in Brussels in the park Woluwe, together with his two years old daughter. His wife walked a bit farther away and was not arrested. Benedictus Zurel begged on his knees to release his child. She was then placed with a Belgian family, separate from her mother. After the war mother and child found eachother again, even though the child did not recognise her mother and only spoke French.
