About Paul Herman van Dantzig

Paul Herman van Dantzig was a son of David van Dantzig and Wilhelmina Catz. He made two attempts to reach England, the first by boat on the North Sea and the second by way of Belgium and France. The second time he was betrayed.

During the war Paul van Dantzig tried to flee to saver places. He was arrested in France. On 11 february 1943 he was deported from the transit camp Drancy to Auschwitz (transport 47), together with his parents and two sisters.

The police commissioner of Delft requested that Paul Herman van Dantzig, a student residing in Delft, be located, detained and brought to trial. He was suspected of changed his place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
