Abraham Gokkes was a son of Salomon Meyer Gokkes and Rachel Spreekmeester. He married Sientje Fransman in Amsterdam on 1 April 1936, a daughter of Joseph Fransman and Grietje Overst. The couple had three children, of whom no one has suruvived the Holocaust.
