Mietje Hamel was a daughter of Levie Hamel and Marianna van der Velde. She married on 2 January 1901 to Isaac Judels, a son of Joseph Judels and Esther Caransa. From this marriage, the 10th of March 1902 their son Louis was born. The marriage however did not last and ended in a divorce.
On 31 July 1912, Mietje Hamel remarried in Amsterdam to Isaac van Dal, son of Samuel van Dal and Vrouwtje van Staveren.
