Biography

About Jacob Franschman

Jacob Franschman and Sophia Baars had thirteen children. Four of them died at a young age before the war. Of the other nine children two survived the war. Besides the here mentioned children four lived on another address, among whom Jacob, Rebecca and Reine. Clara Lootsteen and Rachel Porcelijn were daughters-in-law.

Both parents had to work hard to make a living since they had so many children. When the children became a bit older the family was able to cope more easily. Jacob Franschman had a small pickle business. The family was not religious, but very 'Jewish'. All the Jewish holidays were celebrated.
