Henri Hoepelman en Henderina van Gelder were married at Westerbork transit camp on 13 January 1943. He was an upholsterer by trade and the son of merchant Jacob Hoepelman and Rachel Cohen. She was a seamstress and had been married before to Meijer Blitz; the marriage ended in divorce. She was a daughter of merchant Josef Leendert van Gelder and of Rozetta van Gelder. Lucas Haag, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, served as a witness at the wedding. He signed the marriage certificate.
