Meijer Pijpeman was a son of Wolf Pijpeman, a dealer in sponges, and Roosje Trijtel. Meijer had six other brothers and one sister, namely Hartog, Samuel Hartog, Jacob, Joseph, Philip, Abraham and Sara. Only his sister Sara has survived the Holocaust. His mother passed away already in 1926 in Rotterdam but his father and all his brothers were killed in the Shoah.
Meijer Pijpeman married in Rotterdam on 26 April 1939 the non-Jewish and previously married but in 1937 divorced Antonia Adriana Christina van der Hor. Between 3 and 5 October 1942 Meijer Pijpeman was registered in Camp Westerbork. He was deported on 19 October to Auschwitz. On Meijer's registration card of the Jewish Council is made a note, saying that his wife T. Pijpeman has received a letter from him from Birkenau on 18 January 1943. Meijer Pijpeman lost his life in Auschwitz on 28 February 1943.
