Sara Weening was a daughter of Abraham Weening and Marianne Voet. She had five other brothers and a sister, among them Samson, Salomon, Jacob, and Mozes. One brother and a sister survived the Holocaust.
Sara married in Amsterdam on 19 June 1901 to Lucas Blitz, who passed away already in 1933. The couple had three sons, among them Abraham and Sigfried. One son died in childhood, two years old.
