About Samuel Bierschenk

Samuel Bierschenk from Tiel, son of Jacob Bierschenk and Aaltje Boas, married 19 April 1905 in Rotterdam Sophia Johanna Reijnders, daugther of Jan Willem Reijnders and Pieternella van der Velden. The couple had two daughters of whom one has died in 1916. Samuel's spouse and other daughter might have survived the war. Samuel however passed away during the years of war, 19 November 1942 and the funeral records at the Jewish cemetery in Rotterdam reveal that Samuel Bierschenk was buried at the Jewish Cemetery Toepad.

According the family registration card from the Rotterdam Archive, was Samuel Bierschenk and his family per 4 January 1929 registered at the address Franciscastraat 29 in Rotterdam. No other addresses of this family are known. 

The City Archive gives the followin information about this street, located in the Agniese neighborhood: Per 1-1-1881 name formally introduced. Located from Van der Duijnstraat to Schoterbosstraat and is named after a family member of the constructor of the street. By resolution of the Municipal Board 2 July 1965, the name of the street was withdrawn.
