Simmetje Slomper was the daughter of Hartog Slomper and Wilhelmina Reijs. She was the widow of Gerrit Sterringa, who fashioned sculptures designed by Hildo Krop and John Raedecker. Simmetje Slomper had two children. One child had left for the Dutch East Indies in the 1930s. Simmetje lived with the other child and their spouse. Simmetje Slomper did not dare to go into hiding during the war. Simmetje was brought over to Westerbork and eventhough her children tried to get her out, she was deported to Auschwitz.
