Jannetje van Buren, daughter of Jacob van Buren and Eva Bouwman, got married on 14 May 1875 in Brielle, to Joseph Salomon Philipse, the manager of a coffee house and dancing teacher. Joseph Salomon Philipse died in 1923. They had nine children. Of those children, Jakob Joseph, David Joseph, Philippina Josephina, Cornelia Josephina and Barend Karel Joseph did not survive the war.
