Meijer Smeer, son of Azor Smeer and Sara Cohen was vendor, rag sorter and ditcher. He was unmarried. It was possible that he had work in Tilburg, where he lived before 1937. In December 1937 he returned to Amsterdam, lived with his parents at 2e v. Swindenstraat 53 hs, moved in April 1939 with his mother to Den Haag but returned also in Amsterdam in September 1939 (Leeuwenhoekstraat 2). Per 12 December 1941 he lived at Nieuwe Achtergracht 57 III in Amsterdam.
Meijer Smeer was brought into Camp Westerbork 30 Juli 1942 and deported the next day, 31 July 1942 to Auschwitz, where he was forced to do hard labor instead being killed immediately. About two months later, 30 September 1942 he has lost his life there.
