Mietje Locher was a daughter of Mozes Locher and Clara Hamerslag, who have both survived the Holocaust. She was a granddaughter of Abraham Locher.
City Archive of Amsterdam, archive card of Mozes Locher.
Mietje Locher was the first of the family to be summoned 'for work in Germany'. Despite her mother's wishes she reported voluntarily. She would have said: "If I do not go, they will take you". From the window of a riding train she threw a postcard that arrived. The rest of the family went into hiding and survived the war.
