Elisabeth Barber was a daughter of Meijer Barber and Judic Metz. She married 21 December 1892 in Amsterdam Barend Roe, a son of Joseph Roe and Ester Spreekmeester. The couple had six children, of whom three children have died as babies and one son died before the war. Their sons Joseph and Elkan have been killed during the Holocaust.
