Grietje Bosboom was a daughter of Andries Bosboom and Reina van de Kar. She married 5 November 1919 in Amsterdam to Jacob Swaab, a son of Mozes Aron Swaab and Vogeltje Kaanis.
Grietje was born in a family with in total nine children, of whom six children did not survive the Holocaust: she self, Salomon, Marianne, Anna, Hartog and Eliazer.
