Jacob Mullem was a son of Samuel Mullem and Joanna Salomon van Bever a family with 9 children. One brother and one sister died befor the war. The others, Eva, Salomon, Hartog, Betje, Duifje en Judith hebben de oorlog niet overleefd.
Jacob married in Weesp on 16 October 1907 to Mietje Kool, daughter of Israel Kool en Saartje Goudsmit.
