Raphael Ensel was a son of Sallij Andries Ensel and Rachel Pimentel. He was first married to Klaartje Worms, who died in 1882. From this marriage one daughter was born: Rachel. Later Raphel Ensel married Salina Behr. The couple had the following children: Salomon, Maria, Isaac, Andries, Kaatje, Hanna, Sara, David, Alida, Abraham, Betje and another child. Salina Behr died in 1932.
