Sophia Meiler, a daughter of the Government-rural constable Abraham Meiler and Henriette Coopman, married 26 Januari 1910 in Amsterdam Abraham de Jong, a son of Meijer de Jong and Hanna Waterman. The couple had three children, namely Meijer in 1910, who married Czypa Starkman from Poland, Henriette in 1911, who married Ephraim Snoek and Hanna in 1916, who married Louis Root. Abraham de Jong however passed away on 27 June 1931 and was interred two days later, on 29 June 1931 in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.
Sophia self was born into a family with five children of whom Marcus, Sebilla and she herself have been killed in the Shoah. Her sister Sara and brother Karel have survived the Holocaust. Her father died already in 1896 and her mother in 1937.
Sophia Meiler remarried 1 Mei 1935 Hartog Glasbeek, a fruiterer and an son of Mozes Glasbeek and Saartje Brilleman. From this 2nd marriage no children were born. Hartog Glasbeek had ten children from his first marriage to Saartje Lucasse, who passed away in 1934.
Sophia was employed at the Jewish Council as "assistant bread supply" but on 9 April 1943 Sophia as well her husband were sent to Camp Westerbork and registered there and where they stayed in barack 61. On 20 April 1943 they were deported to Sobibor on 20 April where they have been killed immediately upon arrival there on 23 April 1943.
