Emelia van Weezel was a daughter of Juda van Weezel and his first weife Grietje Cohen a family with three children: Emelia herself, Mozes and Zadok. After the death of her mother , Juda van Weezel remarried Grietje's sister Klaartje Cohen), also a daughter of Sodik Cohen and Martha Brandes.
Emelia van Weezel married in Amsterdam on 8 April 1903 to Andries Polanus, son of Wolf Jacob Polanus and Heintje Raphael. the couple had two children, of whom one has survived the Holocaust.
