Hijman Naarden was a son of Meijer Naarden and Duifje Turfreijer. He was married to Judith Turfreijer, who passed away already on 27 July 1913. He married again in Amsterdam on 20 September 1916 to Marianne Frank. The couple had three children, of which Dora and Felix survived the Holocaust. (Felix survived the war by fleeing from the Hollandsche Schouwburg and hide with his sister.
