Levij Os was a son of Simon Os and Julie Goudberg. He married in Utrecht on 23 October 1889 to Rebecca Cohen, daughter of Abraham Cohen and Matje Kruijer. The couple had three children: Julia, who died in childhood, Matje Julia and Sara. Rebecca passed away before 1910 and Levij remarried to Jansje Cohen in Ramsey (England) on 29 August 1910. From this second marriage were born Andries and Juliette.
