Jacob Sealtiel was a pedlar and a street vendor. He was dealing in miscellaneous and now and then he was buying old clothes as a rag-dealer.
He had a stomach complaint and because of that, he regularly fell ill.
His son Hartog was a leather worker around 1936.
In 1938, Jacob switched to selling potted plants. Meanwhile his son Hartog had become a diamond worker and his daughter Sara was an apprentice seamstress.
