Emanuel Roselaar studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 12 April 1919. He qualified on 21 March 1923 in Amsterdam on a thesis about the 'Treatment of Tuberculosis of the lungs with Thoracoplastic'. He specialised in gastro-enterology and established himself as a doctor for 'diseases of the digestive system and metabolism and fysical therapy (also for radiotherapy)' at 28 Rubensstraat in Amsterdam.
