Henri Salomon Vis was a son of Leon Vis and Beletje van Blitz. He married Gontje van Thijn in 1933 in Amsterdam. During the war he had a job with the Jewish Council.

Henri Salomon Vis had a stationer's shop at the Rijnstraat in Amsterdam. He was also publisher of postcards, for instance of the Amsterdam synagogues.
