The Culemborg police commissioner requested that the brothers Salomon Gans and Henri Gans, both without any occupation and residing at 82 Westersingel in Culemborg, be located, detained and brought to trial. They were suspected of having changed their place of residence without obtaining the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
Identifying characteristics of Salomon Gans: 'About 5'9" tall, solid build, dark-brown hair, short, clipped moustache, bent nose, ruddy appearance, wears his hear with a part on the left; wears spectacles with a dark-brown frame; attire unknown, as he has taken along his entire wardrobe, the suit he is wearing is unknown; bareheaded. He is carrying ration documents and an identification card.'
