About Kurt Lilienthal

Kurt Lilienthal was an actor and a singer. In January 1935 he got married in Amsterdam to Cornelia Grünfeld. From 1934 till 1941 he often acted in the revues of Louis Davids in the Scheveningen Kurhaus and he cooperated in the performances of the Rudolf Nelson company, first in the Leidschepleintheater, later in the Hollandsche Schouwburg. Together with Henriëtte Davids he sang A real Amsterdam duet which was specially written for them. Also he sang in shows which were made under the increasing tension of the anti-Jewish measures (for example in shows of the Joods Kleinkunst Ensemble in the now renamed Joodse Schouwburg.
On 20 January 1943 Kurt Lilienthal and Cornelia Grünfeld were deported to Westerbork; in the same year they were murdered in Sobibor.
