Salomon Goldsmit was a son of Simon Goldsmit and Rosa Seijffers, a family with seven children, of whom he self, Louis, Marcus and Hartog have been killed during the Holocaust.
Salomon married 23 Juni 1910 in Zaandam to Sophie Köttler from Groningen, from whom he was divorced on 13 August 1919. From this marriage, a daughter was born in 1911, who has survived the Holocaust.
Salomon married again on 3 Februari 1921 in Amsterdam to Rebecca Polak, a daughter of David Marcus Polak and Hester Hirsch.
